The Housing workgroup is working to inform the public about ADUs, Missing Middle Housing and the home maintenance resources available in the city.

The action plan is currently in progress and will be fine-tuned through collaborative efforts within our workgroups. See the draft below:

Meet Our Team of Co-Facilitators

Tanya Sallee.webp

Tanya Sallee

Tanya Sallee is a volunteer in the AARP Louisville

community. She has volunteered for AARP for over seven years, volunteered for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) for nearly three years, and volunteered for the American Red Cross Disaster program. Tanya worked at the American Red Cross for sixteen years and has worked in the Information Technology field for over thirty years, currently working as a full-time System Administrator with an IT consulting company.

Tanya has served as the the facilitator for the Age-Friendly Louisville Housing domain since 2018. She feels it is very important to have a home that is safe to live in, affordable, and comfortable to age in place. She is dedicated to seeing how she can continue to help make Aging in Place possible for residents of the Louisville communities.

Kiara James

Kiara created a nonprofit that assists individuals with spinal cord injuries be able to return home to avoid the alternative of going into a nursing home. In this capacity she has been able to connect clients with others in the community to improve social interaction.  

Age-Friendly Louisville combines various things that Kiara is passionate about; those things being the built environment of Louisville, opportunities for social interaction, and tackling solutions that allow people to age in place safely.

Dr. Eziamara Oguibe-Shepherd

Dr. Eziamara Oguibe-Sheperd holds a bachelor's degree in gerontology and psychology, a master's in gerontology, and a doctorate in occupational therapy. She specializes in aging in place and the brain with certifications in aging in place (CAPS), dementia (CDP, CMDCP), and brain injury (CBIS).

Ezii is dedicated to promoting occupational justice, addressing unhealthy environments, and advocating for everyone's ability to age healthily and safely at home.
